Amanda Black Release’s Highly-Anticipated Sophomore Album “Power” – Amanda Black Shared A Diary Countdown To Her Album Release “Power”.
Local songstress Amanda Black has taken the local music industry by storm and the star has premiered her highly-anticipated new single Album.
She has already released songs that served us, Thandwa Ndim and Egoli as the second single off of her upcoming sophomore album ‘Power’ which has just been released today, on the 25th of October 2019.
“The title of the album is called Power and I am super excited and both stressed at the same time. But I am so happy & anxious.“
Amanda says this is a collection of stories and emotions put together. Amanda Black’s career has gone through ups and downs since she first crept into South Africa’s heart on Idols SA in 2015.
After the release of her first single Amazulu, the following year, the singer was in high demand and released her album, also titled Amazulu, the same year. The album went platinum, scored two Metro FM awards and three South African Music Awards.
Having grown up in the Eastern Cape singing in church, Amanda never imagined it would all be plain sailing after she boarded a Greyhound bus to chase her dream in Johannesburg. “The music industry is not what it looks like from the outside, becoming a singer is not what you imagine. It’s a lot harder and a lot deeper,” she says
. “There was a part of me that thought maybe music should just be a hobby – that I should just return to that happy place where I play my music and sing, for myself, my family and my community and it feels good.”
