Samthing Soweto and Zoe Modiga to ignite stage

Make the most of the perfect weather and experience multi-award-winning soul-jazz princess Zoe Modiga and internationally acclaimed performer Samthing Soweto at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens this Sunday brought to you by Kaya FM and Old Mutual.

The vibes promise to be great. Samthing Soweto, who collaborated recently with the big amapiano guns to produce festive hit singles such as Amantobazane and Akulaleki, is sure to get people doing the pouncing cat move with his newly found fusion of amapiano and afro-pop.

He will be joined by Zoë Modiga, who blends African storytelling with Motown soul to produce irresistibly melodic hit singles such as Fireworks and Yakhala inkomo.

“Music is a powerful universal language,” says Bandile Mngoma, Sponsorship Manager of Old Mutual. “We are delighted that this our sponsorship of the Music in the Gardens Series, makes it possible for us to regularly provide a great family day out for South Africans, while also encouraging, supporting and empowering aspiring and existing artists.

Being present at such an enjoyable lifestyle platform such as Music in the Gardens also enables us to spread our message of hope where we want to help inspire, motivate and encourage everyone to be their exceptional best and develop themselves, their passions and ultimately achieve their dreams. With a clear goal, a proper plan, focus and expert advice, you really can Do Great Things Every Day. That’s our message.”

Old Mutual’s sponsorship of the Music in the Gardens Series not only helps to promote and encourage more people to support local artists but the proceeds of ticket sales also help to maintain and sustain the wonderful outdoor gardens keeping them well-kept and beautiful.

“These concerts appeal to young and old and through Old Mutual’s involvement in these events, we are proud to demonstrate our commitment to being a responsible business who cares for the environments and the communities in which we operate”concluded Mngoma.

Old Mutual’s support of the music industry is not new and has only been strengthened by the recent launch of its very own AMPD Studios, recording studio hub in Newtown, Johannesburg. Old Mutual is also a proud associated partner of Idols SA this year, and a continued title sponsor or the National Choir Festival to name a few music based platforms. The financial services giant is also launching into a new music competition partnership called Amazing Voices due to be flighted on screens across Africa in 2020.

Through all these various platforms the financial services provider amplifies South African talent while increasing its relevance to audiences.
