DStv Set To Launch Pop -Up Easter Channel Amid Lockdown In SA – DStv has heeded to the call made by Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams to create a religious pop up a channel.
As we all may know that the country is currently on lockdown for 21 days due to the coronavirus outbreak, South Africans have no choice but to stay home during the Easter weekend.
MultiChoice Group CEO, Calvo Mawela, said they are happy to have immediately responded to the minister’s call to assist millions of South African worshippers who regard Easter as a pivotal period of worship.
“As a responsible broadcaster, we are more than happy to partner with the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies as we afford worshippers an opportunity to observe Easter from the comfort of their homes,” he said.
Launching on the 9 of April on channel 344, in collaboration with the renowned TBN Africa, viewers will see popular gospel artists such as Lebo Sekgobela, Dr Tumi, Hillsong, William McDowell and Rebecca Malope feature prominently on the channel.
“We have responded to this call by partnering with churches, and some of the biggest gospel artists to bring you the best Easter worship experience to as many viewers as possible. Join us on the African Easter channel 344 on DStv for four days during the Easter Weekend,” said Lucky Mbiko, Managing Director of TBN Africa.
