Thandiswa Mazwai Vents About The Ramifications Of The Corona Virus & Urges People To Fight For Their Rights – Thadiswa’s story is not simply that of an immensely talented musician.
it is also that of a spiritual and political leader, even if she at times chooses to skirt that title. She has played with and refracted the social context she grew up in (Soweto in the ‘80s); while her long, diverse career which kicked off at the dawn of kwaito, and has seen her move between traditional and gospel and rock and jazz music with the fluidity of a true master has mirrored the cultural post-Apartheid history of her homeland.

The outbreak of the coronavirus disease named COVID-19 has led to mass fear and panic worldwide. Although the infection rate in Africa has been minimal to date, concern is mounting that its arrival on a bigger scale is imminent, and that the continent won’t be adequately prepared for the fallout.

Forcing people to be at work right now should be a criminal offense! Most people in this country use public transport which is NOT safe right now! The crowded work places are NOT safe! Don’t go to work! Report your boss to the police! Maybe govt. should give us access to UIF?
#asazi but people have to stay home and still have to have money for food. Give us payment holidays for our bills and make sure we have access to healthcare when this thing really hits! By this I mean enough hospital beds and ICU equipment like ventilators.
