The lockdown has impacted musicians quite badly because they have lost gigs, which is their large source of income. Moonchild Sanelly also had to cancel many of her international gigs. However, this wasn’t much of bad thing for the musician.
She recently released her single titled ‘Bashiri’, a track that she has been working on since August 2019. The track has been released under her new recording label Transgressive Records. The track is about pastors that use the church to gain monetization. To her lockdown means that she can get to work more on her album. She told Sunday Times that the beauty is being still and not losing out on much by being still.
“The difference would have been me saying ‘no’ to some shows because I want to focus on the album, but now I don’t have to say ‘no’ because there are no shows. This means I can still focus on my album, it’s a different plan altogether, but I still can,” says Moonchild Sanelly. Many artists have been working on replacing the monetization that they would get from gigs by having virtual concerts.
