If you are anywhere near Westdene in Johannesburg, you are bound to some beautiful tunes over a loudspeaker at about 5pm. Musical duo Tiaan Rautenbach and Elosie Claasen have started what they call [Rooftop Tune]. They have started it as a way of dealing with the lockdown blues in South Africa.
The two musicians have not had any work since March, which was the time the lockdown was put into place. Since their gigs have been cancelled, the duo thought of singing together at their rooftop. The reason why they started bringing music to their rooftops was so that they could share some happiness and let their neighbours know that they are not alone. The two has now decided to livestream their Rooftop tunes on Facebook via ‘RoofTopTune’.
The duo posts one song every single day at 5pm, even in the blistering cold. They have kept people happy with their tunes.
