Gqom music was starting to be forgotten by people. That’s until Babes Wodumo came back to the scene and took the world by storm with her hit single titled ‘ELamont’ from her recent 2020 album IDandokazi. The musician spoke to TshisaLive, letting it be known that she never got rid of the Gqom queen crown.

Her hit single was loved by fellow musician Busiswa and international music couple Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys. The musician was, however, bashed for having Mampintsha on almost all her songs in the album. The singer says he is the perfect feature for her collabprations. “Mampintsha is the only one who understands me and the type of gqom I make. Mampintsha understands me and that’s why we make great music together, we are able to communicate properly,” says Babes Wodumo.

She goes on to say that that a lot of artists don’t really have the knowledge for gqom music. She says that she doesn’t want to feature people that will drain her vibe. She ended up saying that she also features on Mampintsha’s songs.
