Matthew Mole & Francois Van Coke Present New Collab + B-Side Cover

During South African lockdown level 5, Francois van Coke (SAMA26 winner for Best Rock Album) and Matthew Mole (SAMA26 winner for Best Pop Album) reconnected to collaborate on their truly beautiful new song called Fall.

Francois and Matthew first attempted to write a song together in 2017, but with their demanding schedules it was never finished. The lockdown restrictions created the time and space for the two to reconnect, which led to the new single and a cover of Bob Dylan’s classic, Blowin’ in the Wind.  This cover is a B-side release.

Fall and Blowin’ in the Wind were both recorded separately by Matthew (based in Gauteng) and Francois (based in Cape Town) from their respective home studios. Producer Rudolf Willemse added his final touches from his studio in Potchefstroom, which truly makes this a track for COVID-19 times; each artist embracing working remotely to create something special.

The best of South African pop and rock will perform Falltogether for the first time on the livestream stage at Francois van Coke & Vriende on 18 September at 8pm.

“Matthew and I have been talking about a collaboration since 2017, so I’m very glad that we got it together in 2020. It was an interesting process to write the song during this pandemic and having to write it completely away from each other. But it all worked out very cool.
