Big Zulu’s Daughter Siphesihle Nene to Launch Music Career as Nkabikazi

Top South African rapper Big Zulu’s daughter, Siphesihle Nene, is stepping into the music scene. At just 15 years old, she will perform under the stage name Nkabikazi, following in her father’s footsteps as one of Mzansi’s youngest musicians.

Siphesihle, Big Zulu’s firstborn, has completed recording her debut EP, which blends 3-step and amapiano. The project was produced under her father’s label, Nkabi Records, and is scheduled for release on Friday, 26 September 2025.

Big Zulu, whose real name is Siyabonga Nene, revealed that his daughter has been asking him to record her for years. “For the longest time, she has been singing for me and begging me to record her. I kept refusing because she’s too young for this industry, but this year I decided to give people a chance to hear what I hear when she sings for me,” he said.

He added that Siphesihle’s talent is undeniable. “What I have heard when she sings, I know is what people need to hear. She’s talented and is a good singer. She surprises me the way she sings at her age,” he said.

While the EP was initially intended to be Siphesihle’s solo project, Big Zulu decided to make it a joint effort. This allows him to guide her through the complexities of the entertainment industry, including performance and career development. “That will give me an opportunity to guide her in many things in the entertainment industry. She loves dancing songs and loves to dance. That’s why I allowed her to do the dancing songs of the 3-step, to allow her to do what she loves and what she feels doing. I’m grateful my daughter and my firstborn is following in my footsteps,” he said.

Nkabikazi’s debut EP promises to showcase her talent while receiving mentorship from one of South Africa’s leading artists, making her entry into the industry both impactful and carefully guided.
