Thursday Winners Of The 2020 SAMAs. Thursday was the second last season of the 2020 South African Music Awards (SAMAs).
Thursday was the second last season of the 2020 South African Music Awards (SAMAs). The nominee lists were filled with heavy hitters of the music industry. The event was still hosted by actress and presenter Dineo Langa and highly acclaimed comedian Donovan Goliath.
The awards that were being announced are ‘Best Live Audio Visual Recording Of The Year’, ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, ‘Best Produced Music Video’, ‘Female Artist Of The Year’, ‘Music Video Of The Year’, ‘Best Engineered Album’, ‘Best Produced Album’ and ‘Best Classical Album’. MFR Souls, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small won the ‘Best Produced Album’ award for ‘The Return of the Scorpion Kings’. Ami Faku got the award for ‘Female Artist of the Year’ with ‘Imali’.
“Thank you [SAMAs], this is unbelievable..,” says Ami Faku. She went on to thank her fans for supporting her. AKA and Yanga Chief got the award for ‘Music Video Of The Year’ with collaboration on ‘Jika’. Filmmaker Ofentse Mwase got the award for ‘Best Produced Music Video’ for Prince Kaybee track ‘Fetch Your Life’ featuring Msaki. Benjamin Dube received the second ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.
