International Acts Angie Stone, Nissi Added To Hot DStv Delicious Festival Line-up. Heritage Month is finally here, and with it comes the fabulous news that Nigerian Afrobeat star Nissi (Burna Boy’s sister) and Grammy-nominated R&B icon Angie Stone have been added to the already scorching DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival line-up – plus a limited number of additional tickets have now been released for sale to the public!

Crammed with the best of local, African and international live music, a cosmopolitan carnival of street food and fine dining, the launch of the exclusive DStv Delicious Festival: Our Story & Recipes cookbook, and the Chefs with Compassion partnership that enables festival-goers to lend a helping hand to those less fortunate, this year’s festival is shaping up to be unforgettable.

Taking over the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit over the Heritage Day weekend of 24 and 25 September 2022, the “music festival for food lovers and food festival for music lovers” is back after a two-year absence due to Covid-19 – and we can’t wait to get our party on. Festival-goers are urged to bring out their fashion A-game, take it to the limit and dress to impress!

Tickets have been snapped up faster than you can say “delicious”, but the festival organisers have now released a limited number of tickets for sale. DStv Rewards members again get exclusive access to the last tickets on offer. The DStv Rewards Lounge tickets for Saturday or Sunday are available at R5 850, while General Access tickets for Sunday are going for 25% off. Join Rewards at www.dstv.co.za/rewards to get your promo code and book your tickets. Offer valid until the 17th of September 2022 via Howler and the DStv Rewards programme – but hurry, they won’t last long!

“DStv is excited to be able to extend the DStv Rewards offer once again, with access to festival tickets through our partnership with Massive Music. It was great to see the quick ticket uptake from the phase 1 announcement, showing an eagerness for people to start enjoying concerts and other lifestyle activities. With the two year break and looking at the strong local and international line-up, this years’ DStv Delicious promises to be the best one yet!” said Nyiko Shiburi, MultiChoice South Africa CEO.

Joining Nigerian superstar Burna Boy on the Main Stage on Saturday is his sister Nissi – a star in her own right. Expect visual and audio fireworks as this super-stylish Afrobeat singer takes to the stage with, as Vogue magazine describes it, “sun-soaked melodies and a blend of English, Pidgin and Yoruba to tell us it’s OK to just let go”.

Saturday’s killer music line-up also features the Stereo MCs, G-Force, Major League DJz plus kwaito legends Mdu, Kabelo, Thebe, Arthur, Trompies and Dino Bravo.

And the party doesn’t end there – head to the Channel O Drip Stage to dance till you drop to the irresistible sounds of amapiano and rap by the likes of Mellow & Sleazy, Mr JazzIQ, Blxckie, Kamo Mphela and DBN Gogo. It’s going to be epic!

American R&B and neo-soul singer-songwriter Angie Stone has just been added to the Sunday Main Stage line-up. Widely regarded as music royalty, she has been nominated for three Grammys, has won two Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards and last year, she received the Soul Music Icon Award at the Black Music Honors ceremony.

Angie will join a strong Sunday line-up that includes international acts Babyface, Digable Planets and G-Force, plus a powerful assembly of homegrown female vocal power in the Miriam Makeba Tribute: Simphiwe Dana, Zenzi Makeba Lee and Msaki. Plus, the sensational Lebo Mashile will be on hand to deliver a golden thread of powerful spoken-word inspiration throughout the two-day festival.

On Sunday, the Channel O Drip Stage will come alive with the Smirnoff Infusions – two eclectic combos that mash up different styles to make potent musical alchemy. The first combo is Amy Faku (Afro-soul), Kelvin Momo (amapiano) and Nduduzo Makhathini (jazz); and the second combo sees Sha Sha (amapiano), Maglera Doe Boy (Hip Hop) and Dlala Thukzin (gqom/Afrotech) coming together to make sheer magic.

All that dancing and partying will stir up quite an appetite, and the stall-holders on the Delicious Food Mile are ready to tempt your tastebuds with the street food flavours of the world. Plus, get some first-hand cooking inspo from Siba’s Table celebrity chef Siba Mtongana in the Ambassador Lounge.

Wear your heart on your sleeve – don’t forget to pick up your “care pack” at participating Sasol Delight stores, or at the pop-up store at the festival, to help combat hunger in Gauteng thanks to the DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival’s partnership with Chefs with Compassion.  They have amazing prizes up for grabs over the weekend which include a signed commemorative magnum of red wine, and a chance to win sundowners on the main stage!

And take a little slice of J’Something and other celebs home with you by snapping up the new DStv Delicious Festival: Our Story & Recipes (available to pre-order at www.thatfoodguyshop.co.za). It’s a great read, filled with awesome recipes from the stars while tracking the fascinating history of the festival to date.

The DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival’s much-anticipated celebration of music, food, fashion and good times would not be possible without the generous support of headline sponsor DStv, plus partners Samsung, Sasol Rewards, Sanlam, Windhoek Beer,  Mercedes-Benz, Tanqueray, Smirnoff Infusions, Fitch & Leeds, Proudly South African, Flight Centre and the Gauteng Tourism Authority. The festival is also indebted to broadcast sponsor Primedia Broadcasting and their Gauteng radio stations 702 and 947.
