Wednesday Segment Winners Of The 2020 SAMAs. It’s halfway through the 26th year of the South African Music Awards (SAMAs).
It’s halfway through the 26th year of the South African Music Awards (SAMAs). There are more winners on the table in the virtual award ceremony hosted by Donovan Goliath and Dineo Langa. Some of the wins were unexpected by the audience.
The winners that were announced are in the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, ‘Best Selling DVD’, ‘Best Pop Album’, ‘Beste Pop Album’, ‘Best Hip Hop Album’, ‘Best Kwaito Album’ and ‘Best Selling Artist’. The theme for Wednesday was #ForThaStreets. The ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ was given to the late legendary Dan Tshanda. The ‘Best Hip Hop Album’ was given to Yanga Chief with his debut album ‘Becoming A Pop Star’. “I just want to take this moment to let everyone know that I believe in God!! My story is too long to tweet, I’m forever indebted to SA Hip Hop. To the moon we go…Just became a POPSTAR…Thank you South Ah,” says Yanga Chief on his win.
DJ Tira won the award for ‘Best Kwaito Album’ with his album ‘Ikhenani’. ” Thank you SAMA26…My first SAMA 21 Years later! Ngiyabonga mina. Wherever you are keep pushing…Don’t give up on your dream…,” says DJ Tira. Mlindo The Vocalist won the award for ‘Best Selling Artist’ with his album ‘Emakhaya’. Joyous Celebration bagged the ‘Best Selling DVD’ award for ‘Joyous Celebration Live at the CTICC Cape Town’. And Kurt Darren won the award for ‘Beste Pop Album’ with his album titled ‘Partytjiedier’.
