While others were having a tough year in 2020, Master KG has been having a pretty wonderful year. The artist has been raking in awards from all over the world with his hit song ‘Jerusalema’ featuring vocalist Nomcebo Zikode. The artist is still on a roll.

He went on social media to thank his fans for the latest achievement of receiving 140.3 million streams on Spotify in 2020. “It’s been a great year managed to do [140.3] Million Streams on [Spotify]…Big thanks to everyone who made this possible,” says Master KG. According to the stats by the music streaming site, the song was listened to by 18.5 million listeners within 9.6 million hours. It was also streamed within 92 countries. Social media users showed love to the music producer for his win.

“Hope this proves [that] you’re the best producer to ever come out of SA…original sound KG…,” says one social media user. One user says, “[You] shouldn’t even be competing for awards [you] are nominated for this year, they should just hand them to you bro…this was your year.” One user says, “Insane figures…congrats Master KG [for] setting the standard so high!” One social media user mentioned shepherd Bushiri. “Seems like Bushiri was referring to your life when he said 2020 is gonna be a grrreeeat year,” says the social media user. The music producer has also been recently nominated at the MOBO awards for ‘Best African Act’ alongside artists such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Stonebwoy and David. The award ceremony will be broadcasted on YouTube on the 9th of December.
