DJ Fresh and Euphonik have recently been accused of rape on Tuesday by a woman who goes by the Twitter handle @Nampree. The woman alleges that the two DJs have drugged her and three others. However, according to IOL, the radio personality has refuted the allegations that were set against him.

The social media user says at the time of the sexual assault she was a virgin. Some social media users were behind her and others were backing the two media personalities. He says that he knows about the allegations that were set against him. “I am aware that assertions have been made about me on social media and I understand that this is often the price of being in the public eye. The fact that these claims are untrue and from an unknown source, does not make them less hurtful,” says DJ Fresh.

The radio personality goes on to say that he is concerned that the allegations of gender-based violence undermine the seriousness of legitimate incidents, which has an impact on the urgency on that they are attended. “Each time someone succumbs to the temptation of using GBV to further personal agendas, the cause to eradicate this scourge takes a step backwards,” says DJ Fresh. The radio personality urges people who are victims of gender-based violence to go to their local police station and lay charges.
