Kelly Khumalo Allegedly About To Lose Her Porsche To Repo Man
Kelly Khumalo Allegedly About To Lose Her Porsche To Repo Man! COVID-19 and lockdowns are two things that affected many, if not everyone’s finances. Artists have been open about how the lockdown has affected them financially and now some of them have began to lose their most priced possessions.
Kelly Khumalo is allegedly about to lose her car after failing to keep up with her payments. According to Sunday World the singer is currently faced with R62 000 arrear fees for her 2011 Porsche Cayenne Tiptronic vehicle purchased in March 2017 bought on a R500 000 loan.
The publication reports that Kelly had an agreement with a bank to pay R10 000 in monthly installments until 2023, but she was behind by R62 000. After failing to pay, Motor Finance Corporation (MFC) filed papers at the Joburg High Court, for a default judgment against Kelly.
Apparently, the bank wrote multiple letters to Kelly informing her to give back the car because the sale agreement between the bank and her had been cancelled. However, the artist allegedly didn’t bring back the vehicle. This matter was concluded by the lawyers who asked the court to give the bank a judgement and an order to force Kelly Khumalo to give the car to the bank also forfeiting her past installments.
TV personality and actress Khanyi Mbau has also had her luxury cars (2015 Porsche 912 Carrera and a 2014 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG) repossessed due to failing to pay her debts.
It was reported that at least 500 vehicles turned over for auction since the beginning of July 2020, as many South Africans continued to drown in debt caused by the coronavirus and lockdown. While South Africa’s largest bank, ABSA, reported that 382 cars had been voluntarily surrendered since the start of July 2020.
