Top Ten Ray Phiri’s Songs Of All Time

Yesterday South Africa woke up to the sad news of the passing of one the greatest musicians of all times Raymond Chikapa Enock Phiri famously known as Ray Phiri. He was suffering from Lung Cancer. In his time, Ray made best of Jazz music. Most of his songs are a mixture of Jazz, Mbhaqanga and Fusion. Ray was involved in a band Istimela and worked with Paul Simons. The “Zwakala” singer has performed in various places around the world.

Ray Phiri was involved in two accidents in his life, the first one claimed the lives of his six band members back in members and in 2003 with his wife who died. Ray has 8 children, 5 daughters and 3 sons. Ray has composed many songs in his life and has won a number of awards.
