You Can Now Audition For ‘Idols SA’ Season 17 Online. Idols SA 2021 auditions transition from the culture of hosting auditions in four big cities, namely Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town, and moves into the digital space. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the season 17 auditions will be held online. So you do not have to worry about staying safe while at the auditions venue.
The online auditions platform will open on Friday, 29 January and close on Sunday, 14 February, midnight or when they reach the 15 000-entry limit. Official Idols SA twitter account posted the steps that one needs to follow in order participate, with a caption written: “How do I audition for Season 17 of #IdolsSA you ask? Here are the main steps. You can click the card for more detailed information. The audition portal, http://idolssa.tv/audition opens this Friday, (29th JAN) at 9AM.” Record a 30-second audition clip, go to www.idolssa.tv/auditions, complete the form, and upload and submit.

The current status and the urge to curb the spread of coronavirus encourages a greater variety of entries as well as ensuring that the show goes on despite the pandemic. The judging for the online auditions will commence on the 1 February 2021 and conclude on 1 March 2021. This new format gives people who could not get to the designated venues an opportunity they have been dreaming of but could not access due to limited resources.
