Diagonal Lines Releases ‘Weight/Redemption’ Music Video Highlighting Anxiety, Depression, Self-Harm And Suicide!
DIAGONAL LINES releases ‘Weight/Redemption’ – a music video which shines a spotlight on the prevalence of anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicide in our modern society.
Working alongside the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (www.sadag.org), our hope is to encourage those suffering to reach out for help and to create awareness in society to better support those facing this daily battle to overcome.
The song is a dense, evolving soundscape that juxtaposes unembellished lyrics, and conveys a complex internal battle that draws the listener in while transporting us from an almost unbearable weight of fear, anxiety and personal failure, through to a moment of clarity and into a new place of redemption.
Beautiful yet often wrenching visuals brought to life by Jonathan van Heerden (Director) and Kobus Potgieter (Director of Photography) add substance and reality, exploring the internal battle of anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts while change is one action away – reaching out.
RELEASE DATE: 16 FEBRUARY 2020
About Diagonal Lines:
DIAGONAL LINES is a solo alternative project rich with emotion and large, layered sounds. Creating from a home studio in the suburbs of Cape Town, DIAGONAL LINES is about letting creativity speak, giving a voice to the soul. The ability for music to express the intangible, the unspoken and truly capture the intensity and nuances of a feeling or an idea is something otherworldly. When this force meets with an open, incomplete heart, change can take place, or at least, begin.
