Mthandazo Gatya Celebrates His Single That Made It To Top 10 Most Played On Radio. Mthandazo Gatya, the hitmaker of “Abafana” is celebrating the success of his single. It cracked the top 10 of all radio stations, where he was joined by the likes of Ariana Grande, Blaq Diamond, Big Zulu, DJ Coach, Zakwe and a few others. The star took to social media beaming with excitement and shared the news with his fans, also announcing that the music video will be dropping on 24 February. He wrote: “News say that we we’ve already made the top 10 most played on radio, more news is that Abafana Music video will finally be live on YouTube tomorrow.”
Speaking on the year 2020, he said: “For me 2020 was a blessing and curse. I got discovered and got a breakthrough because people were under lockdown at home and were able to listen, as opposed to when the country was open and everyone was just interest in amapiano. People would rather dance than sit and listen to lyrical content. But again, I feel like I couldn’t promote the song as much as I would have loved to as a result of the lockdown.”
Not so long ago, he shared the news that he has received his first plaque. His single titled “Senzeni” featuring DJ Manzo and Comado, has a powerful message of unity and positivity, and has given him the music breakthrough that he has been yearning for. Taking to social media, he posted: “UThixo mhle maxesha onke, may this be one of Many still to come, our 1st ever Plak and it so happens to be a platinum one, congratulations to fellow soldiers Comado & @DjManzoSA, thanks to @JOZI_ENT & @UMGSA.”
