Zakes Bantwini Speaks On His Relationship With Black Coffee And How He Made Lvovo His Protégé. Zakes spoke on working with Black Coffee on the song titled love light in the past and that he hasn’t been working with Black Coffee for a while now but maybe that could be possible in future. MacG asked: “Are you guys still working together? and is there any dispute between you to?” Zakes confirmed that they aren’t working together anymore and that there was no bad blood between the two.
Black Coffee and Zakes Bantwini were once dubbed “besties” in the South African music industry and people enjoyed witnessing their bromance. This comes after the two had a dispute apparently due to some industry politics after working together.
Zakes also mentioned that he produced and wrote Bayang’sukela song as well as producing 95% of the songs in Lvovo’s first album “I would see Lvovo and people love Lvovo even now, and I knew that the way I like him, people would like us too. I told him that we should do music and he refused as he wanted to be an MC. People would say call me Lvovo’s side kick, but deep down I knew that I actually signed him under my own record label, Durban Kwaito Music,” said Zakes.
