Da Capo on Black Coffee’s influence on his career. South African DJ and music producer Da Capo shared a list of people who influenced his music career with DJ Black Coffee being his biggest influence.
In his interview on The Episode podcast, Da Capo spoke about the influence DJ Black Coffee has had on his career. He has worked with the Grammy winning artist and he knows him personally. He shared that he has done a lot for his music career and he is where he is today because of his influence.
“Black Coffee has really influenced me. I’m not just saying because we worked together. I know him personally but he has done a lot for my career”, Da Capo shared.
Da Capo further added that one of his songs became a hits because of DJ Black Coffee. He shared that Black Coffee was playing his song in one of his mixes and people loved the song and it went viral before it was even released. That song Yehla Moya from his Genesys EP became the most played song and he received a South African Music Award with it under the category of best remix of the year.
“I remember after Black Coffee played it. He was doing his mix and then played the song. It went crazy”, Da Capo shared.
Da Capo has made his mark in the music industry with his exceptional work nationally and internationally. His music career started when he was signed into the label called Soulistic Music. The record label opened doors for him internationally. He released his first album in 2017 titled Indigo. The album became certified double platinum in South Africa. Da Capo left the record label and established his own record label Genesys Entity in 2020.
