Langa Mavuso Opens Up About The Birth Of His Music Career
Langa Mavuso opens up about the birth of his career. Singer and songwriter Langa Mavuso whose real name is Nkosinathi shared details about his music career. Langa has had a successful music career since he’s tapped onto the music scene.
In his interview with Slikour on The Unplug podcast, the singer shared how his music career started. His love for music started in high school as he was always surrounded by singers and dancers. He added that when he began his music career at a young age he used to be around big artists a lot. “When I was in high school I was really surrounded by people who wanted to get an opportunity to be on the stage, to write, to sing…”, Langa shared.
Early on in his career, Langa was mentored by music producer and singer Spoek Mathambo. He attended his first festival with Spoek where he performed in 2011. Furthermore, the industry has been a journey and fun for Langa. “Spoek Mathambo from a very young age he was the one that took me under his wing and supported me a lot… I did sessions with him. My first festival was with Spoek in 2011…”, Langa said.
Moreover, Langa also shared that the type of music that he composes is based on experience and about love. He sings about real love experiences. Not only does he write songs about bad love experiences, but also about how he feels when it comes to his mental health.
“Words are from experiences, they’re like real real experiences. And I love love man, I’m a sucker for love… Beyond love I think on fifa I speak about being depressed. That was a real thing, that was a real feeling… It’s all a reflection of a time and place that I’m in or the time that I’ve just passed. Lot of it is retrospective.”, Langa shared.
What fans can expect from Langa in 2023 is a lot of music. He is currently working on his EP, album and a show.
