Shimza speaks on people not supporting unknown artists. House music DJ Shimza expressed how he feels about upcoming artists being overlooked when they are trying to set their foot onto the music sphere.
Taking to his Twitter page, Shimza shared how people cry foul when people who wants to make a name for themselves on the music scene are not recognized. He shared that it is the people that are always crying about opening up the industry that do not support upcoming artists. He further added that they do not attend their shows when the line up is full of unknown artists.
“The ones who always complain about” opening up the industry” never support the shows we do with artists the don’t know”, Shimza tweeted.
Shimza is one of the artists who has been assisting and displaying his work with upcoming artists. Since the establishment of his record called Kunye Records Label he has been having shows with unknown artists. Kunye Records is a platform established to introduce upcoming artists to international artists and audience.
Tweeps reacted to his tweet by saying that organizing shows for upcoming artists is not enough, they must also collaborate with them in their songs. “I think it would be better if you gave them features”, said one of his followers.
