Watch! Lamiez Holworthy built a home for her adopted orphans. DJ and radio personality DJ Lamiez Holworthy founded an organisation called Lamiez Holworthy Foundation to assist homeless kids.
For the love that she has for kids and transforming lives, DJ Lamiez took to social media to share what she had accomplished for the 30 kids she adopted back 2019. She shared after a few years she had finally secured a space for the kids and is currently transforming the place into a home.
“With a dream of always having my own orphanage, I adopted 30 orphans in 2019 and I have taken care of them with zero funding and zero sponsors. Since I’ve been blessed and lucky enough to finally find a space that we’ve slowly been transforming into a dream home for my kiddies and can’t tell just how happy this makes me”, Lamiez shared.
The DJ also shared that she started her foundation with no help or sponsor from anyone. She revealed how it had been hard to do it on her own, but the assistance she received from her family made things easier. She shared that the people that have since been by her side are her husband rapper Khuli Chana, her mother, sister and other family members.
“… My giving back has always been a direct way of communicating with God and my ancestors. But even this can get hard when you do it alone (with nothing but faith and help from my husband @khuli chana01, my mom, sister and my other siblings who manages the place, my brother and my best friend”, Lamiez shared.
Along her journey, Lamiez found a sponsor that donated school shoes and sneakers for the kids. She shared that she got assistance from her friends from the Bathu shoe brand. “I realised that I don’t have to walk this journey alone and asked my friends from @bathu_sa to donate new school shoes and sneakers and wish you could’ve seen the pure joy on my kiddies faces“, Lamiez shared.
Lamiez went on to share how people had been doubting her for taking this huge step. She shared that people could not believe that she took such a huge responsibility under the bad state of the economy. Inside her, Lamiez believed that with God by her side, this dream will become a reality. The DJ is not done stretching her hand to the unfortunate.
