Soweto Gospel Choir Brings Spiritual Power to Mr Dutch’s New Dodorima Music Video

Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir is lending its legendary harmonies to Nigerian artist Mr Dutch’s highly anticipated new music video for Dodorima, set for release on Friday, 6 June.

This soul-stirring single also features rising Nigerian star Raybekah and marks a significant milestone in Mr Dutch’s career, appearing on his debut album They Thought I Was Done.

Dodorima draws its title from the Edo and Igbo languages, where it conveys a message of deep gratitude and spiritual truth. These themes come alive through the Soweto Gospel Choir’s soaring vocals, transforming the song into a powerful moment of worship and celebration.

“Working with Mr Dutch on this project was deeply spiritual. It’s a celebration of praise through pain, African unity, and music that heals,” the choir shared.

Directed by Mr Dutch himself, the Dodorima video is a visually rich exploration of pain, healing, and faith. Set against a backdrop of traditional African symbolism and emotionally charged imagery, the video takes viewers on a cinematic journey of personal redemption and spiritual triumph.

“This isn’t just a music video, it’s a visual prayer. Dodorima is my story. I’ve been through darkness, and wanted the world to see how faith, music, and African culture brought me back to light,” said Mr Dutch.

Dodorima is the first visual release from They Thought I Was Done, Mr Dutch’s genre-blending debut album. The project combines Afrobeat, gospel, and amapiano influences, reflecting his evolution as both an artist and a survivor.

Known for its rich harmonies and spiritual depth, Soweto Gospel Choir was founded in 2002 and remains one of South Africa’s most celebrated musical exports. Their contribution to Dodorima reinforces the song’s message of resilience, faith, and unity across African cultures.

Mr Dutch continues to carve a unique space in today’s music landscape, blending Afrobeat rhythms with spirituality and futuristic storytelling. With Dodorima, he offers a bold narrative of healing and triumph, rooted in African heritage.

Fans can look forward to experiencing the full visual and spiritual impact of Dodorima when the music video premieres this Friday.
