Sjava Unveils Inkanyezi 2.0 Live EP

Multi-award-winning artist Sjava has officially released his highly anticipated Inkanyezi 2.0 Live EP. The project follows the success of his Inkanyezi Live EP and serves as a continuation of the story and energy that first captured the hearts of his fans.

Inkanyezi 2.0 was recorded live during two sold-out performances at the Joburg Theatre on 15 and 16 August 2025. The five-track collection brings the intimacy, vulnerability, and raw power of Sjava’s stage presence into a recorded form. Just three weeks after those performances, the EP arrives to extend the unforgettable moments shared with his audience.

The new chapter mirrors the spirit of the first Inkanyezi but elevates it further. If the first release was the spark, Inkanyezi 2.0 is the full blaze. Each track carries the sound of the cheering crowd, the synergy of the live band, and Sjava’s own emotional delivery, creating recordings that feel timeless.

The name Inkanyezi means “a star,” and the new EP stays true to that meaning. It radiates strength, hope, and inspiration, echoing the connection Sjava finds when performing for his fans. His live shows have long been known for their emotional depth, and this project captures that same spirit in recorded form.

The EP includes collaborations that enrich its sound. Legendary Maskandi artist Shwi makes an appearance, reuniting with Sjava after their acclaimed track Ithuna from the platinum-selling album Isibuko. In addition, producer, instrumentalist, and vocalist Zadok brings his distinct touch, known for shaping South Africa’s contemporary soundscape with his innovative style.

Sjava explained his vision for the project: “The first Inkanyezi was a glimpse of what performing live means to me. This time, I wanted to bring even more. More emotion and more of that powerful connection we feel when we experience the music together, live and in the moment.”
