Sweet Guluva: From Big Brother Mzansi Winner to Rising Star in Music and Acting

Since winning season five of Big Brother Mzansi in March, Sweet Guluva’s profile in South Africa’s entertainment industry has skyrocketed. The 23-year-old, born Akhonamathemba Mbele, is expanding his reach from music to acting, drawing attention for his authenticity and ambition.

Sweet Guluva credits his grounded approach to family, faith, and roots. “Fame can be overwhelming, but I always remind myself that this comes from people’s love and support,” he told Sowetan. His connection with fans, known as the Sweet Gs, relies on genuine interaction. He emphasizes authenticity as the key: “What people see online, and in person, is who I really am.”
