Londie London Returns to Music with 3-Step Singles Ngiyabonga Nkosi and Ngizwile

She gained fame on reality TV with Real Housewives of Durban, but Londie London’s roots have always been in music. Despite criticism of her singing abilities during her time on the show, she remained focused on her craft.
After a challenging few years, Londie is reclaiming her vocal prowess. Partnering with Prince Benza, she has ventured into the 3-step music genre. Their collaboration began when Londie visited Prince’s studio for another session, and her voice instantly caught his attention. “While I was recording, he said he likes my voice. We started connecting after that, and in the next session, he played me all his beats. We actually did two songs in one session. It was like a natural connection. He’s now a brother to me,” Londie told Drum.
Though new to 3-step, Londie embraced the genre with excitement. She previously experimented with a similar sound during her time at Ambitiouz Entertainment. Prince, known for Bolohouse hits with Makhadzi, Master KG, and Akon, blends 3-step with Lekompo to create a familiar yet fresh sound.
On 26 September, they released their singles Ngiyabonga Nkosi and Ngizwile. Londie explains the inspiration behind Ngizwile: “When he played the beat, it gave me a spiritual vibe. I wanted to make it like a love story with a twist. It’s about someone you’ve been longing to see, but now the connection is not there anymore. You have to look at other avenues. Immediately when he played that beat, it made me so emotional.”
For Londie, Ngizwile marked a turning point in her music. “For the first time in a long time, I actually got a chance to get in tune with my feelings and write them into my lyrics. I normally take somebody else’s experience and run with it. This time, I went deep and made it personal.” She adds that the songs have also helped her heal from past struggles, both public and private.
Ngiyabonga Nkosi, on the other hand, is a song of gratitude and celebration. “It’s my mom’s favourite song because it’s close to gospel. I’m thankful for everything I’ve accomplished, and it reintroduces me as a musician. These songs allowed me to stretch myself and sing fully the way I want,” Londie said.
Prince Benza sees the collaboration as a springboard to the international music scene. “The reason I did these songs was to grab the international market and mark my new deal with RosePearl Entertainment. The international 3-step scene is big. Ngiyabonga Nkosi is a prayer song that everyone needs to hear,” he concludes.
Londie London’s return to music combines personal expression with strategic genre exploration, positioning her and Prince Benza as artists ready to reach new heights locally and globally.
