Busi Gold Shines with Debut Album ‘Seasons’

South African singer Busi Gold is making waves with her debut album, ‘Seasons’, showcasing her unique style and vocal mastery. Born in the Northwest and now based in Soweto, Busi brings energy, humility, and heartfelt storytelling to her music.

At her album listening session at the SAMRO offices in Braamfontein, she shared the inspiration behind her song ‘Mvelinqangi’. She revealed how her mother’s near-death experience shaped her perspective on life. “I told God that I wasn’t ready to live without my mother, I was too young for that. So, I watched my grandmother pray devotedly, and I said to God I don’t understand what’s going on, but I don’t want to grow without my mother,” she said. Her mother survived, and Busi reflected, “God saved her and kept her.”

Her testimony moved singer Vusi Nova, also in attendance, to tears. He shared his own experience of losing his mother and referenced his song ‘Mama’.

Busi explained why she waited for the right time to release ‘Seasons’. She wanted to collaborate with the right team, ensuring the album was made with love and dedication. “We got people who were really invested in the album, so that’s why it is so alive,” she said.

When asked why she pursued music despite its challenges, Busi credited her passion and support from her husband, Ephraim. “I was aware of the challenges of the industry, but I didn’t allow that to stop me from pursuing something that I love. I worked with my husband, who guided me throughout the entire process,” she explained.

Her journey has strengthened her faith. “I have learned that God can be trusted, and I’ve seen that in my life. He has worked in my life, and I’m not ashamed of singing about Him,” she said.

Busi Gold hopes her debut album resonates with listeners. “I hope people enjoy this album, it’s made with love, and it’s from the heart,” she concluded.
