Dalom Kids to Release New Single “Girl Child” Featuring HarryCane, Eeque, Lowsheen and Droppa

South African afro-pop veterans Dalom Kids are set to release their latest single, “Girl Child”, on Friday, November 14. The track features collaborations with HarryCane, Eeque, Lowsheen and Droppa, highlighting the group’s ongoing dedication to creating music that resonates across generations.

For over three decades, Dalom Kids have been a defining presence in South Africa’s afro-pop scene. Their performances fuse infectious rhythms with powerful vocals, celebrating African culture while continuously evolving their sound to appeal to both long-time fans and new listeners.

The female vocal trio was originally formed in 1989 by the late music legend Dan Tshanda as part of his Splash band. Dalom Kids are known for blending gospel-style chants with electronic disco beats, primarily singing in Tswana, and carrying forward Tshanda’s musical legacy. Over time, the group’s line-up has evolved, mixing original members with new talent, ensuring the signature “Dalom sound” remains vibrant.

This dedication to innovation and tradition is evident in “Girl Child,” which balances contemporary influences with the group’s signature style. The single continues their commitment to producing music that honors African culture while appealing to modern audiences.

Earlier this year, Dalom Kids received a nomination at the South African Music Awards for Best Afro Pop Album for their “Collaboration with Friends” project. Sylvia Tshanda, writer, producer and composer of Dalom Music, reflected on the recognition: “Being nominated for a Sama is a huge honour. Dalom Kids are also taking their music on tour. In South Africa, they will headline the End of Year Disco Inferno at Luxor Maboneng in Johannesburg on Saturday, November 29, performing alongside Boss Lady. Internationally, the group will perform at Olympia Lounge in Leicester on Friday, November 14, followed by Club Exodus in Leeds on Saturday, November 15, sharing the stage with Peacock and Vee Mampeezy.

With “Girl Child”, Dalom Kids reaffirm their place as trailblazers in South African afro-pop, blending tradition and innovation while continuing to inspire audiences both locally and abroad.
