Pop Duo Saxby Twins Explore New Sound With Their Single ‘Icon’. 2020 has been quite a good year for the South African pop duo the Saxby Twins in terms of music.
2020 has been quite a good year for the South African pop duo the Saxby Twins in terms of music. The two brothers have released four tracks since they made their debut in the music scene in 2020. The pop duo has now come back with a different feel with their new single titled ‘Icon’.
The Saxby Twins were inspired by the hip hop scene that is climbing charts around the world. The pop duo has adopted the sound of some of the new age hip hop artists in the international scene for the single. The duo, however, put their own twist to the hip hop sound. The song speaks about the life of a modern-era party person. The song is a bit different to what the Saxby Twins previously released. The brothers go on to push their boundaries and dabble into new sounds. According to the duo, the song is meant to be played loud.
“The track is electric and vibrant and it’s the perfect feel-good summer anthem to kick off the new year. The song shows off a different side of what we have to offer in terms of our music,” says the twins. The brothers felt that it was important that they do something different at this stage of their career, more over since there is many more layers to their musical genes. When making the song the twins wanted to make it a pop track as much as they could but also look at another pathway in terms of their music.
The brothers say that they always want to keep fans on their toes. “We strive to create music that meets the needs and requirements of everyone who listens to it. Since we are relatively new artists, it’s so important to us to display a unique blend between sonic elements that are upbeat, catchy and smooth and combining that with some emotional ballads, all while staying true to who we are as musicians and the music we want to create,” says the Saxby Twins.
