Zahara Explains Why She Releases Albums And Not Singles

Gold-selling Afro pop star Zahara explains why she prefers dropping an entire album instead of single releases.Speaking to TshisaLive The multi-award winner said that her aim of dropping an album is to tell her story through a collection of songs at once and to remind people that she is not chasing fame but passion.

The artist further said that she is scared that people will only remember her as the person the media has painted of her through reports that have speculated things she claims to be untrue such as her being a drunkard.

“There have been a lot of things said about me. A lot of untrue things like I am a drunk and I am this and that. And it scares me that I could be remembered for those things and not my music. They (the public) have forgotten who I really am and that I am the girl next door,” She said.

She explained why she claims to be not chasing fame. “If I was chasing fame, I would put out singles and do promotion stunts for it, but I want people to hear my whole story. So I didn’t put out singles, but released the whole album and let people decide what to listen to. Even the radio stations are playing different songs – the ones  they like best. That is what I want,” she added.

Zahara is loved by many people and they still appreciate her talent, that was proven over a week ago when she released an album that went Gold in a matter of few hours. Her main aim as she had mentioned a number of times is to bring about change and heal people with and through her music.
