Majozi Returns With Flannel Music, A Warm And Reflective New EP

Majozi returns with a new body of work that leans into calm reflection and emotional honesty. His latest EP, Flannel Music, offers a stripped back listening experience built for quiet time and long drives. The project focuses on simple storytelling and steady melodies that feel personal and grounded. It avoids heavy production and instead highlights voice, mood, and memory. This release strengthens his reputation as a songwriter who values sincerity over spectacle.

Flannel Music is a four track EP now available across major streaming platforms. It includes the fan favourite single You and I along with three new songs. One of the standout new releases is A Long Time Ago, which has already started gaining attention on radio. The EP is designed as a connected listening experience rather than separate singles. Each track flows into the next with a consistent tone of warmth and reflection. The goal is to make music that feels familiar, like something you can return to without effort.

The idea behind Flannel Music comes from travel and time away from home. While performing internationally, Majozi spent long stretches in unfamiliar places that pushed him into reflection. He wrote many of these songs during that period, drawing from memories and everyday experiences. His time on the Old School Tri-Nations Tour added to this influence, with performances across South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia. He returned to South Africa on 23 March after months on the road. The distance helped shape music that looks back while still moving forward.

The EP arrives after a strong period in his career that included major performances and international growth. In 2025, he performed a sold out show at the Baxter Theatre and toured Europe with Easy Freak. He also played shows in cities across Europe and Abu Dhabi, expanding his global audience. Despite this growth, his sound has stayed consistent and personal. He continues to focus on emotional connection rather than chasing trends. This balance between growth and grounding defines his current creative phase.

Flannel Music captures small moments that often carry the most meaning over time. The songs reflect on relationships, personal change, and memory shaped by distance and experience. Majozi focuses on the quiet details that build a life rather than dramatic turning points. The EP creates space for listeners to slow down and reflect on their own stories. It shows how simple writing can still carry deep emotional weight. With this release, Majozi reinforces his place as a storyteller who finds strength in honesty and restraint.
