Zinhle & AKA “CO- Parented” at the ERC Live Billboard

Three of South Africa’s biggest artists, AKA, DJ Zinhle, and Distruction Boyz performed live on a stage that was elevated to be a live billboard. Yes, you read right – a stage to be a – live billboard. They set this incredible stunt up, to showcase the improved playlist of East Coast Radio. 

East coast radio held 3 biggest names in the industry; AKA, DJ Zinhle, and Distruction Boyz, they all had an opportunity to perform on a stage and it was said to be skyward, top of the range for a live billboard. They have made history. East Coast Radio was exhibiting they polished playlist. Things are really getting better, they were trying out something outside the norm to catch the reaction of the fans. And it worked.

AKA commented with thrills; exclaiming the event was spectacular, well-thought, incredible planning and execution from the radio station. It was something different, coming from a new flavour. It united us with the people of Umlazi. And according to AKA that was brilliant. 

DJ Zinhle expressed she had an unusual feeling, they took her out of her comfort zone, performing on the side of the road was at first but it brought her thrills to want to perform her best.

They scheduled the event to begin at 6:30 am to end around 8 am. People were astonished mesmerised, this billboard event circulated traffic. The #ECRMusicTakeover became popular at number 3 on Twitter nationally. It was the first stunt to ever be done by a radio station. Big Ups!

“This was absolutely amazing and a great location. This was so different and ECR is doing differently in a big way.” Dawn Thandeka King followed this with “This was the dopiest thing ever. You’d never expect this on a Monday morning!” she said.

There were highly respected individuals; with power and influence, you know, trendsetters. The list ranges from TDK Macassette, Dawn Thandeka King, Napy Maps, seated in their VIP marquees to observe this astounding event building authentic FOMO for the fans around South Africa.
“This is so unexpected on a Monday morning, I literally saw the traffic as AKA was performing and stopped and watch. Thank you ECR for making my week after a long night of work,” said local resident Ayanda Mdluli.
This event sounds like it was fun, I am glad AKA and Zinhle are getting along well.
