Watch! DJ Tira Pays Tribute At Nichume’s Memorial “We Need To Look Out For Each Other As Musicians” – The day came for the memorial service of House vocalist, the 12th of June 2019. Nichume Siwundla was hosted at the Assemblies of God church in Sandton, Johannesburg.

In the previous week, it was announced that the 27-year-old singer committed suicide while at a friend’s house in Joburg last week. Now, family, loved ones, celebs and friends attended her memorial to celebrate Nichume’s life and her work achievements.

According to TimesLive DJ Tira and NaakMusiq were amid those who shared their thoughts at the late singer’s memorial service. Songstress Shekinah and media personality Moshe Ndiki ushered at the venue to celebrate the deceased one last time.

“We need to look after each other as musicians. The music industry is horrible. There is a lack of information and if you do not know where you are going it is going to be hard to make it in life. Something needs to be done, because we need to look after our artists,” he stated

A confidante of the star, Buhlali Qina, stated at the memorial that she was asked to a friend’s apartment due to what had taken place, something had transpired to Nichume and when she arrived her fears were confirmed.

“As soon as I looked in ‘Chume’s face I knew. I fell to the floor and when I picked myself up, I knew I had to be strong for those she loved. We picked each other up as Nichume would pick us up without fail.”

“Love, please don’t leave! Nichume you are love … One day we will be okay. It may not be today or next week or next month, but we will be okay.”

It was stated that Manyano Madiba recalls Nichume pleading for him not to die prior to her own death, the thought of being without him was a pain indescribable.

“She told me, ‘wait before I go before you go because I don’t know to live without you’. It is sad that what was a joke has come true. I lost a partner and a soul mate. I believe that she will now be standing next to me, motivating me … I know one day we will meet again.”

Throughout the speech of the memorial, Nichume’s younger sister, Buhle Tyantsi, was weeping but carried by the strength of loved ones as she participated in songs and praise to her sister. Nichume was accounted for her strong will, she praised Nichume for her resilience and pastime, stating she had a fighting spirit.

Nichume’s Funeral will be held in East London, Beacon Bay on Saturday, June 15.
