Public Worried About The Removal Of Brenda Fassie’s Sculpture In New Town – Brenda Fassie is our an international music icon.

Brenda Fassie has been juxtaposed with prominent names, pop stars globally. Although Brenda has been compared to the likes of American Madonna, she was one of a kind and can never be compared. Her Music brought joy and entertainment in the music scene.

The people have been left bewildered and perturbed following the historic Brenda Fassie sculpture in Newton, Johannesburg, enigmatically disappeared.

Good news, the statue was taken down on Saturday, instructed by the City of Johannesburg, the statue has been taken for repairs.

The sculpture was designed and crafted in 2006 as part of the Sunday Times Heritage Project to mark the 100th year anniversary of the newspaper. The 570-metre life-size bronze statue of Brenda Fasie, known also as Mabrrr rested on a stool at the rare of a microphone was situated outside Newtown Music Factory (formerly Bassline).
