Msaki Addresses Rumours That She Is Taking A Break From Music
The Afro-pop singer, Msaki confirmed on Podcast and Chill with MacG that she is taking a break from the music sphere and there are so many factors that have contributed to her making a decision of stepping back from the industry. One of the factors is the cheating scandal that surfaced on social media and she also wants to take care of her mental health and focus on her kids.
Msaki also shared that she never wanted to be in the spotlight, she is only devoted to writing songs and making music. Msaki never wanted her personal life to be in the public and now people are intrigued by her personal life and she has never taken the celebrity status to head.
“I don’t think I have adjusted to the celebrity thing. If I can describe myself I am a devotee to the craft. The by product of this thing has now gotten me, people are interested in my personal life, it’s mind blowing. I understand there’s a part of it where it’s like it comes with the territory, just take it in…Being in the space becomes difficult to be human”, says Msaki.
Moreover, Msaki adds that being in the music sphere makes one’s life hard and makes it difficult to be human. She explains that people will always be in your business and that comes with the territory.
“Being in the space now makes it difficult to be human. People are flattening you in a sense that, like they’re not gonna hold you in the same dark and light and the same grace that they hold themselves, all those things. I find that a little bit disturbing. I hate it when it happens to my colleagues, I don’t think it is fair”, says Msaki.
Furthermore, the Afro pop singer is planning on shifting her focus to her visual art work because she will have more time since she is taking a break from music and she is ready to do exhibitions and showcase her work. “I’m gonna invite you too some shows, I’m gonna have more time right on my hands and I will do exhibitions”, says Msaki.
The Afro pop singer will do her last show in February next month and will come back to the music industry when she has fully healed.
