“Self knowledge and self appreciation”- Tweeps on DJ Sbu giving Mzekezeke his flowers. Tweeps did not buy former kwaito DJ, DJ Sbu’s pretense to not be Mzekezeke as he was giving him his flowers.

A tweep took to his Twitter page to share a video of DJ Sbu appreciating kwaito musician Mzekezeke for his contribution in the South African music sphere. DJ Sbu shared that the aim of the video was to pay respect, and give tribute to the kwaito musician for his greatness that he shared with his music. The DJ expressed that Mzekezeke was his inspiration in the music sphere and shared that he was a game changer and he just wanted to give him his flowers.

“Out of all those Hollywood characters, I kind of feel Mzakes was a pioneer, he was a game changer and I drew a lot of inspiration from him and what we all did as a record label, but also what we did as that kwaito generation. I just wanted to do this video to pay tribute to Mzekezeke, for me it doesn’t matter who it is or who it was, wherever he is, I just want to thank him for the work that he has done all these years”, said DJ Sbu.

Tweeps had mixed reactions to the DJ’s video and added their views. A lot of people have believed that Mzekezeke was DJ Sbu in a mask. The DJ has shared clarity that he is not Mzekezeke, he also does not know who he is and he has never seen his face before. Even after clarifying, people still believe that he is Mzekezeke.

Whilst others were applauding him for recognizing and giving flowers to a fellow kwaito musician, other were saying Mzekezeke is DJ Sbu. They went on to the comment section to share that DJ Sbu is just pretending that he is not Mzekezeke.
