MÖRDA’s Asante III: A Spiritual Soundscape of Joy, Resistance, and African Excellence

For MÖRDA, music is far more than rhythm—it’s a vessel of spiritual resistance, a language of joy, and a blueprint for liberation. With the release of Asante III, his third solo project under the bold MÖRDA moniker, the artist formerly known as one half of Black Motion invites listeners into a sonic ritual—raw, intentional, and unapologetically African.

Asante III—now available across all major streaming platforms—is the climactic continuation of a deeply personal trilogy that began with Asante I and evolved through Asante II. If the first two were a revelation and a reckoning, then this third installment is the revelation’s echo—a fearless and layered body of work that fuses street grit, spiritual gospel, Afrocentric melodies, and entrancing three-step rhythms.

The Spirit of “Glory”

The album’s focus track, “Glory”, is a spiritual anthem powered by the resonant voices of Nomfundo Moh and Nontokozo Mkhize. Rooted in pulsing basslines and haunted by ethereal harmonies, the track moves like a prayer at sunrise—triumphant, healing, and deeply rooted in the South African soul.

“I knew their voices would bring something special,” MÖRDA shares. “They elevated the beat with emotion and power, turning it into something divine.”

A Sound Made for the Soul

Every track on Asante III serves a higher purpose—each one a meditation on identity, spirituality, and collective healing. The introspective “Home” (featuring Brenden Praise and Artwork Sounds) speaks to belonging, while “The Massacre” (with Nqo) channels resistance through militant percussion. Collaborations are rich and purposeful, featuring voices like Nokwazi, Mnqobi Yazo, Sizwe Mdlalose, Afrikan Roots, and more.

Crafted in his own studio, MÖRDA helmed the entire production alongside trusted sonic architects including Thakzin, Dr Moruti, Suffocate SA, and others—ensuring every beat, every note, carried his vision and fingerprints.

More Than Music: A Movement in Motion

What sets Asante III apart isn’t just its polished execution or seamless genre fusion—it’s the intention behind it.

“I want this music to bring peace. I want people to feel free. To dance. To heal,” says MÖRDA. “This is music for the people. For the streets. For the soul.”

But MÖRDA isn’t stopping at sound. He’s launching Vault by MÖRDA, a live experience series designed to take his spiritual soundscape from the streaming realm into the physical world.

“I want fans to experience a different side of MÖRDA—something real, something alive. This is just the beginning.”
