Sbahle and Mawelele Unite on Soulful New Afropop Single “Ngiyabheja Ngawe”

South African afropop sensation Sbahle returns with a captivating new single, “Ngiyabheja Ngawe,” in a collaboration with award-winning afropop artist Mawelele, known for his platinum-selling hit “All My Life” featuring Kwesta. The track is a celebration of love, commitment, and the joy of a truly reciprocated connection, combining vibrant rhythms, heartfelt lyrics, and infectious African melodies.

The song opens with Sbahle’s emotive chorus: “Angifuni lutho ngento yam, angifuni lutho ezophazamisa uthando lwethu – Ngiyabheja Ngawe,” meaning “I don’t want anything or anyone to interfere with my lover or the love we have for each other. I can bet on you and our love for each other.” Her tender devotion immediately draws listeners into the intimate world of the track.

Mawelele then delivers the first verse, reflecting vulnerability and deep affection: “Baby God knows you’re my one and only, kukhala wena dali esifubeni sami,” which translates to “Baby, God knows you’re my one and only. It’s you who pulls my heart’s strings.” His soulful delivery emphasizes sincerity and the profound connection he shares with his partner.

The next verse deepens the emotional narrative: “And sometimes I’ve been feeling lonely, Ngaphandle kwakho dali, Kuyabanda. Ngike ngahamba dali. Ngase ngabona abanye Ngakhohlwa ngawe dali,” meaning “Sometimes I feel lonely without you and it’s cold out there. As a result, I explored and saw other people and forgot about our love.” Mawelele’s candid reflection on human vulnerability, paired with his warm tone, makes the song relatable and deeply moving.

Since her breakout single “Emlanjeni,” which has garnered over 17 million YouTube views, Sbahle has consistently delivered hits that resonate across South Africa. She followed up with “Ngiyazifela” and “Ubani Obayazi” featuring Blaq Diamond, and independently released her highest-grossing single, “Uthe Uyangithanda” featuring Pretty Masompisi & Mjolisi via Africori. Her music blends soulful soundscapes with African melodies, creating tracks that are emotive and relatable.

Hailing from Umlazi, Sbahle draws inspiration from her grandfather and iconic South African artists such as Kelly Khumalo, Nhlanhla Nciza, Zonke, Lebo Mathosa, and Brenda Fassie. Her collaboration with Mawelele marks a special milestone, uniting two beloved afropop voices in a song poised to become a fan favorite.

Looking ahead, Sbahle is preparing to release her debut album early next year, promising more heartfelt music celebrating love and connection. She shares, “Music has always been a part of my life—it’s how I express myself and connect with people. Working with Mawelele felt like bringing two hearts together through song, and I can’t wait for everyone to feel the love we put into this track.”
