Shimza Gives Back To The Community Despite Not Hosting His One Man Show Amid COVID-19. Shimza‘s One Man Show is an annual event for a noble cause, usually held at the Mehlareng Stadium in Tembisa on Christmas Day. However, amid the pandemic, the show didn’t take place. Nevertheless, that never stopped the DJ from giving back to the community which he grew up in. Doing his part for the less fortunate, Shimza managed to keep 400 children in school. Even though the DJ was able to make a huge donation from the money he used to raise from the annual show, Hollywood bets partnered with his foundation to make it possible.
Shimza took to hi social media to share the good news with his fans and to show gratitude to the sponsor. He wrote: “Because I didn’t have my One Man Show last year due to COVID-19, I didn’t know how I would fund my annual Back-to-School shoe campaign, until @Hollywoodbets came through and partnered with my foundation. They made it possible to keep 400 kids in school. #shoeofhope#Shimuzic.”
In 2019, Shimza spoke on the reason behind giving back, he said: “I’ve seen children who go to school with shoes that are torn and open on the edges, and as I walk past them I try to think of a way which I can better their lives. I cannot say I’m from a poor background but I’m from a township and I cannot ignore where I come from.”
