Nomcebo Zikode And Zakes Bantwini React To Winning Their First Grammy Award
Nomcebo and Zakes Bantwini react to winning their first Grammy Award. As the 12th collaboration to win a Grammy Award, South African singers and song writers Nomcebo Zikode and Zakes Bantwini won a Grammy award. This was their first Grammy nomination as a collaboration.
The singers won under the category of Best Global Music Performance. Moreover, the song that they were nominated for is their biggest hit song called ‘Bayethe’ produced by Wouter Kellerman.
Zakes Bantwini took it to social media to share how elated and grateful he is for winning his first Grammy Award. He expressed how speechless he is. He added that he wished that his late parents were around to witness this moment.
“Took me 17 years to find my path. I have no words to express the emotions and grace that have come over me. This moment is owed to my late mother and father. I’m grateful. Unkulu’ Nkulu uNumber 1”, said Zakes Bantwini
Meanwhile, Nomcebo Zikode also took it to her social media accounts to express how grateful she is. She gave a shout out to her fans for supporting her craft and thanked God for this special moment. She further added that this girl from Hammarsdale has won a Grammy Award.

The statistics shows that South Africa has 12 Grammy Award winners. This number is the highest in Africa. Nomcebo and Zakes are added to the Stat. The Ladysmith Black Mambazo have won 5 Grammys, Black Coffee has won 1 Grammy and Miriam Makeba has won 1 Grammy. The producer of Bayethe, Wouter Kellerman added this Grammy Award won alongside Nomcebo and Zakes to the one he has won before.
