Azania Jazz Co. Releases Highly Anticipated Third 2026 Album ‘What Africa?’

South African musical ensemble Azania Jazz Co. has officially released their third full-length album of the year, titled What Africa?. Following the success of their earlier 2026 offerings, Afro Jazz Nights and Between Africa’s Rivers, this latest project expands the group’s rapidly growing catalog with a distinct, striking release that is already commanding attention across streaming platforms.

The album lands alongside a bold, high-concept cover featuring traditional pattern attire contrast-matched against a vintage television set displaying monochrome static. It serves as an immediate visual departure from the warm sunsets and classic jazz club aesthetic of their previous records. Musically, What Africa? introduces an energetic fusion of genres, reinterpreting house and dance floor rhythms alongside rich gospel harmonies and brass instrumentation.

The 13-track offering features titles including “Free at Last, Broke at Last”, “Constitution”, “Helicopter”, “Prosperity Gospel”, “Another Church?”, “Cold Drink”, “Door to Door”, “Madlanga”, “Xenophobia”, “Abahambe!”, “Mhondoro”, and “Nashi Nashi”. Rather than offering explicit commentary on individual compositions, the band lets the dynamic production and structural flow of the tracklist speak for itself.

With three distinct projects released within months, Azania Jazz Co. continues to demonstrate an impressive studio output in 2026. What Africa? is available on all major global streaming services.
