Here’s How Much Nota Had To Pay Shimza For Calling Him A Corrupt Boy

Here’s how much Nota had to pay Shimza for calling him a corrupt boy. In 2021, house music DJ and producer Ashley better known as Shimza, sued music entrepreneur and manager Nhlamulo Nota Baloyi for defamation of character.

Nota called Shimza a corrupt boy on social media after it was alleged that Shimza had gotten a government music gig for because of his relationship with someone in the government. Shimza took the matter to court, Nota was found guilty and he won the case.

The initial amount that Nota was supposed to pay that Shimza sued him for was R500 000. Nota did not take back and apologize for the statement he made. City press reported that the judge ordered Nota to pay a bill of R252 540 but was taxed at R349 000. Nota did not understand why he had to pay so much money.

“I was so confused by the legalese, I forgot that I instructed my attorneys to oppose that. It is a ridiculous amount that they cannot even prove that they have billed”, Nota said.

The amount of money that Nota has paid so far is R200 000. Shimza shared on social media that the amount of money that Nota paid is still not enough, “E sa shota”, Shimza tweeted.
